Hello to all site visitors.
I’m so pleased that my wonderful website is up & running and I can share my journal of thoughts, actions, research & study with you.
Over the coming weeks I will post a number of articles & blog entries relating to the world of counselling & coaching which I hope you will find useful & enjoy. I am particularly interested in dynamic change and how people can be helped positively using only simple, but powerful, techniques as well as talking through, in a non-judgemental environment, their worries or concerns. Talking is an incredibly powerful medicine but not everyone finds it that easy. Its my job as a counsellor to help you feel at ease so that you are able to discuss your concerns…..
As my website details I also have a special interest in all things pregnancy, birth & postnatal related and often feel that the pregnant woman/couple, or new parents, have such a minefield of info to dissect that it can be impossible to really get down to ‘brass tacks’ about how they feel & how they wish to prepare. As well as standard counselling (which is great for any pre-birth anxiety) I also offer a fantastic Birth Awareness session which gives couples/mums to be/dads to be the chance to ask any questions they have to a very knowledgeable birth professional over two hours. You can then have a session with myself discussing & talking through any issues you may feel you want to address emotionally prior to becoming a parent and/or giving birth. Having a baby & becoming a parent is such a wonderful but lets be honest here, potentially daunting experience, that it would be good to enter into your new life feeling as informed & positive as possible. I hope to facilitate that through either the Birth Awareness sessions or via dynamic, positive counselling sessions.
I can also help you with the emotional states that no-one likes to talk about….including Post Natal Depression & Birth Trauma (also known as Post Traumatic Stress). Please don’t sit & suffer. You can recover, and often a combined approach of different therapies can prove very powerful. Counselling can help you get to the root of your depression & anxiety whilst therapies such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) or EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) are also powerful therapeutic techniques to aid recovery by giving you the coping strategies to move on with your new self should you require them. I can help you find the right combination of therapies for your particular mindset. Sometimes space to talk is all you need, sometimes a whole box of tricks is required but I firmly believe that everyone has an outlet for their anxiety, depression or worries that suits them….
Finally, as I’m new to blogging/posting online I would like to apologise in advance for any typos or general blogging mistakes. I’m very human (you’ll be pleased to know and being online within this space is a learning curve for me.
